CitizenReady - Australian Citizenship Test Preparation

1. Agreement to Terms

CitizenReady is a service operated by Atanexus (ABN: 96656198455). Throughout these Terms, references to "we," "us," "our," or "CitizenReady" refer to Atanexus.

By accessing or using CitizenReady ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Description of Service

CitizenReady provides online educational services for Australian Citizenship Test preparation. Our service includes:

  • Practice questions organized by section (522 questions covering all official test topics)
  • Mode A: Values practice tests (5 questions, 100% required to pass)
  • Mode B: Full mock tests (20 questions, 75% overall + 100% values questions required to pass)
  • Comprehensive question bank with explanations
  • Progress tracking and test history (Premium users)
  • Study streak tracking
  • Text-to-speech functionality

3. Account Registration and Security

3.1 Account Creation

To use CitizenReady, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password, or by signing in with Google. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Ensuring the accuracy of your account information

3.2 Account Restrictions

Each account is for individual use only. You may not:

  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent service limitations
  • Allow others to access your account
  • Transfer or sell your account to another person

4. Subscription Plans and Pricing

4.1 Free Tier

Free users receive:

  • 1 free Mode B mock test
  • Unlimited Mode A values practice tests
  • Access to sample questions in the question bank
  • Basic progress tracking

4.2 Premium Tier

We offer a premium subscription option:

Practice Pass - $9.99 AUD (30 days)
  • Unlimited Mode B mock tests
  • Full access to all 522 questions with detailed explanations
  • Complete test history and performance analytics
  • Study streak tracking

4.3 Subscription Terms

Subscriptions are one-time purchases for 30 days. There is no automatic renewal. To continue using premium features after your subscription expires, you must purchase a new subscription.

5. Payment and Billing

All payments are processed securely. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to:

  • Pay the subscription fee for the tier you selected
  • Provide accurate payment information
  • Accept that subscription fees are non-refundable except as specified in our Refund Policy

6. Refund Policy

6.1 Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) or any other applicable law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement.

Under the ACL, you have guaranteed rights including that our services must:

  • Be provided with acceptable quality and fit for purpose
  • Match the description we provide
  • Be provided with due care and skill
  • Be reasonably fit for any disclosed purpose

6.2 Major Failures

You are entitled to a refund if there is a major failure with our service. A major failure includes situations where:

  • The service is substantially unfit for its purpose and cannot be fixed within a reasonable time
  • The service is materially different from what was described or advertised
  • Critical technical issues prevent you from accessing the service for an extended period
  • The service does not meet a specific requirement you told us about before purchase

6.3 Minor Problems

For minor problems with the service, we will offer to fix the issue within a reasonable time. If we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, you may be entitled to a partial refund or other remedy.

6.4 Voluntary Refund Policy

In addition to your guaranteed rights under Australian Consumer Law, we may provide refunds in these circumstances (must be reported within 48 hours of purchase):

  • Duplicate charges or billing errors
  • Technical issues preventing service access (verified by our team)
  • Accidental duplicate purchase of the same subscription

6.5 Non-Refundable Circumstances

Subject to your guaranteed rights under Australian Consumer Law, voluntary refunds will generally not be provided for:

  • Change of mind after accessing subscription content
  • Passing the citizenship test before your subscription expires
  • Failure to use the service during your subscription period
  • Account termination due to breach of these Terms of Use

6.6 How to Request a Refund

To request a refund or report a problem with the service, contact us at ivan@atanexus.com with:

  • Your transaction details (date, amount, transaction ID)
  • Description of the issue or reason for refund request
  • Your account email address

We will respond to your request within 2 business days and resolve the matter within 10 business days.

7. Content Ownership and License

7.1 Our Content

All content on CitizenReady, including our original questions, answers, explanations, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by Atanexus or its licensors and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

Our practice questions are based on the official resource book "Australian Citizenship: Our Common Bond" published by the Department of Home Affairs. Official government content remains the property of the Commonwealth of Australia.

You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without permission
  • Scrape, download, or systematically extract questions from our question bank
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to access our source code
  • Remove watermarks, copyright notices, or proprietary markings
  • Create derivative works based on our content

7.2 Content Protection

We implement technical measures to protect our content integrity, including:

  • Copy protection preventing text selection and copying
  • Right-click context menu restrictions
  • Screenshot detection and logging
  • Developer tools access restrictions

Attempting to circumvent these protections violates these Terms and may result in immediate account termination.

7.3 User-Generated Content

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or other communications to us (e.g., via the Contact page), you grant CitizenReady a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and incorporate such content into our service without compensation or attribution.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or user accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the service
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Upload malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Engage in any activity that could harm CitizenReady or its users

9. Educational Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: CitizenReady is an independent test preparation service and is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Australian Government, Department of Home Affairs, or any official government agency.

While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date practice materials based on the official Australian Citizenship Test resource book, we do not guarantee that our questions will appear on the actual test. We strongly recommend studying the official resource book "Australian Citizenship: Our Common Bond" in addition to using our service.

CitizenReady does not guarantee that you will pass the actual Australian Citizenship Test. Success depends on your individual study efforts and test preparation.

10. Limitation of Liability

10.1 Consumer Guarantees

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes:

  • Any liability that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law
  • Our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • Our liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • Any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)
  • Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law

10.2 Limitation Subject to Law

Subject to section 10.1 above, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid for your subscription in the past 12 months.

Subject to section 10.1 above, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
  • Failure to pass the actual Australian Citizenship Test (as this depends on your individual study and performance)
  • Service interruptions caused by third-party providers (Firebase, Google services)
  • Content or conduct of third-party websites linked from our service

11. Warranty Disclaimer

Subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and other applicable laws, CitizenReady is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

Subject to mandatory consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded by law, we do not warrant that:

  • The service will be uninterrupted, secure, or completely error-free at all times
  • All practice questions precisely match current official test questions
  • All defects or errors will be corrected immediately
  • The service is completely free from viruses or harmful components (though we take reasonable security measures)

Nothing in this section limits your rights to services of acceptable quality, fitness for purpose, or other guarantees under Australian Consumer Law.

12. Account Termination

12.1 Termination by You

You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Subscription fees are non-refundable upon account deletion.

12.2 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately without notice if you:

  • Violate these Terms of Use
  • Engage in fraudulent activity
  • Attempt to circumvent content protection measures
  • Abuse or misuse the service
  • Provide false information during registration

12.3 Inactive Accounts

Accounts that remain inactive (no login) for more than 12 consecutive months may be deleted. We will send at least 30 days' notice to your registered email address before deletion, giving you an opportunity to log in and preserve your account if desired.

13. Communication and Notifications

By creating an account, you consent to receive service-related communications from CitizenReady, including:

  • Account verification and security notifications
  • Subscription confirmations and receipts
  • Service updates and important announcements
  • Password reset and account recovery emails

These transactional emails are necessary for service operation and cannot be opted out of while your account is active.

14. Third-Party Services

CitizenReady uses third-party services including:

  • Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and hosting
  • Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise for security
  • Payment processors (as applicable)

Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or performance of third-party services.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of CitizenReady shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia.

Non-exclusive jurisdiction means you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your own state or territory if you prefer.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CitizenReady regarding your use of the service.
